MY ACNE STORY & WHERE I AM AT

So I guess I will start to back before I got acne and cystic acne. So in high school I didn't get pimples well not till I was in year 12 so I was 17. This was only a pimple or two around my period or when I was stressed. When school ended I still had clear skin for the most part.

Now in the beginning of 2016 a few months after graduation around February, January my skin started to get sensitive and I got really red skin and I got a new job which I loved but I was in the sun a lot, I did put sun screen on my neck but never my face because this was back when I only wore foundation and mascara and used no primers or brushes.

Now I didn't take much notice of my skin. A few lifestyle changes I had made were going vegan and wearing mineral make up and a minimal amount of it. I started using heaps of skincare products because I got a mini travel kit of their original range on sale and I wanted to try some different skincare because before than I just used what ever my mum bough which was this Australian pure gel cleanser and their scrub.

My diet was vegan and I ate lots of fresh fruit and drunk 2 litres of water because of my job. I had take out maybe once or twice a month when it was an anniversary or just a treat. I didn't do any exercise except being on my feet for a 9-11 hour shift and running up and down the lunch room stairs which were 3 levels. So I was doing all the things that were supposed to help my acne.

The products I was using I don't think were doing anything for me because I didn't have an skin concerns. But around June of that year my skin had big large red bumps and became very acne prone all month. I do have some photos which I will put in below for you to see.



The photo's above are both from June. As you can see I have redness and a few spots around my forehead and cheeks. My skin wasn't perfect here but my acne went down hill after this. Now I struggled to find and photos of how bad my acne was because I didn't want to take any pictures. Now I did have YouTube videos but they are no longer on my channel but i have some screen shots of how bad my skin got so I will put them down below.

These photo's are very hard for me to share as when I filmed images or took images of me it was from a bad time in my life. Where I worked went out of business. Money was low and I was put on anti depressants. So as you can see over the time of a few months my acne got worse. 

So I don't have any recent photo's except the ones I took today. I didn't take many photos because my acne has gotten much worse and I feel so embarrassed and disgusted. So my current diet is vegetarian. I drink over 1 litre a day and don't do much exercise. I go for 30-60 minute walks 1-2 a week sometimes more. So I am quite healthy still. I do drink soy milk and cut out as much dairy as possible.  So here are the photo's of what my face looks like today (17th of June 2017). 







So my skin is a whole lot worse. These photo's have been taken in natural lighting. Please don't be harsh to me or anyone with acne as sometimes you just can't help what your skin does. Now I am not on any type of acne medication or birth control but in the next week I am looking at getting a prescription from my doctor to go onto a birth control pill that is supposed to help fight acne. 

I have looked into seeing a dermatologist too but here in Australia I have been told that you first need to be on the pill for at least a month before seeing a dermatologist and trying any type of acne medication including acutane. 

So this is my acne story and where I am at. I hope this was helpful for someone who may be in the same boat as me and isn't sure on what to do. These photos are hard for me to share but I need to keep a track of my skins journey and I want you all to see that acne is normal and sometimes no matter how good or bad yo eat or how much you exercise acne can just be there. I also wanted to share this story so if I try the pill or any acne medication you can refer back to this to see how I started.
