NYX TOTAL CONTROL FOUNDATION DROPS

So a few months ago, about 1 or 2, I was hearing and seeing a lot about this NYX Total Control Foundation Drops. I believe this whole drop foundation drop concept came from the cover fx drops. There are a few drugstore brands bringing these type of foundations out, including BYS and Australis. So I decided to pick up the NYX version as it had a few more shades, especially pale shades.

Now speaking of shade range, in Australia we have only 12 shades which are from lightest to darkest: Porcelain, Light, Vanilla, Natural, Buff, Beige, Golden, Medium Olive, Golden Honey, Mahogany, Mocha and Deep Rich.  So a pretty good shade range, they have a good mix of cool and warm tones. I feel like porcelain is a very neutral colour until it dries. It is very pink, well when it was swatched on my hand.

The claim: From sheer to full, your ideal coverage is just drops away with out new Total Control Drop Foundation! Fine-tune this velvety, matte foundation with the included dropper. Simply adjust the number of drops until you create the look you're feelin' today. Want more coverage? Add more drops! Buff expertly using the TOTAL CONTROL DROP FOUNDATION BRUSH for a seriously smooth finish.

So when I first shook the foundation bottle it was extremely runny. When I applied it on my face it dripped straight down my face. I felt like it was going to go everywhere. I feel like this for some may be a messy foundation to use. I used 3 drops on either side of my face and then 2 drops on my forehead, at first and it gave a medium coverage. I then added a single drop again to either side of my cheek and it brought it too a good full coverage.

You could still see the bumps from my acne but you couldn't see any redness. I was super happy with the coverage. You defiantly have to wear this with a powder though because it did not set or become velvet or matte like NYX claimed. I wore this foundation for about 6-7 hours (In my video I only wore it for 4-5 because my camera battery died. I will link it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7r67ZSFbn4 ) and it wore really well. I didn't find it to transfer when it set into my skin.

I at first thought it oxidised because my neck looked orange. I found after an hour or two that it went away. I know that it sounds weird but it no longer looked orange. I really liked how it settled into my skin, it was a perfect colour and I just love it.

Here is a quick before and after. These aren't the best pictures as they are screenshots from my review video.
Not yet applied to face.
Applied to half of my face.
Applied to all of my face.

So this foundation gets a 8/10 for me. I would love to try the BYS pure silk serum foundation as it's only $14.95 and you get 23ml to 10ml more and nearly half the price. I feel like the NYX Total Cover Drops are fantastic for my oily- combo skin. I would buy this again only if this was on sale though.
